The universality of digital imaging
This work was an extension of the digital photography "The Order of Things" produced in 2019, I was mainly thinking about the problem between photography-image at that time. Today, to a certain extent, we sometimes need to discuss "images" and "photography" separately, because of the invention of digital technology, image and photography are no longer inseparable. Therefore, today's photography need to face a problem that do not appear in early photography, but does not necessarily have to be solved: photography are no longer close to reality, so the way I look at photography-images have become to focus on this layer of relationships that we all know, but are difficult to express with images.
The universality of digital imaging use the video form to go on the inseparable relationship between digital and image in the contemporary, and a part of the inspiration for this series came from the classic works “Un dimanche après-midi à l'Île de la Grande Jatte” of the impressionist painter Georges Seurat, in the painting, people on the riverbank in a certain afternoon seem to fully enjoy the landscape. They look at the landscape and focus on it, but it is difficult for us to enjoy the landscape like this now. In contrast, the world on the screen have become the scenery we browse in our daily life, but it is monotonous and flat. Digital completely sweeps the world and becomes an indispensable part of our daily life.
